Pakistan has seen rapid growth in the Covid-19 positive death toll in the past few days credited in part to a loosely implement lockdown. On Wednesday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Provincial Doctors Association (PDA) had strongly recommended complete lockdown and separate hospitals at divisional levels for the infected people to contain the virus.
According to PDA President Dr Aamir Taj Khan, the epidemic required a complete lockdown to enable people to stay home and enforce social distancing otherwise the health system would collapse and all the health workers would end up infected with the virus that would leave the patients in the lurch.
